Workstations
In addition to our Linux-based HPC cluster, we are pleased to offer a fleet of GPU Workstations. These units are designed for researchers requiring high-performance interactive computing, Windows-exclusive software environments, and significant local storage.
High-Performance GPU Workstations are equipped with the following components:
Each workstation is a powerhouse designed to handle data-intensive research and complex visualisation:
Component Specification
Processor Intel® Xeon® Scalable Processor (High core count for multi-threaded tasks)
Memory (RAM) 128 GB DDR4/DDR5 (Supports massive datasets in-memory)
Graphics (GPU) 24 GB VRAM Dedicated GPU NVIDIA RTX 6000 (Optimised for AI, CUDA, and 3D Rendering)
Storage 8 TB Internal HDD (Ample space for large-scale project files)
Operating System Windows 10/11 Enterprise
To ensure you can work from anywhere, whether on campus or at home, we are utilising Desktop as a Service (Daas) based platform. This allows you to access the full Windows desktop environment directly through your web browser. No VPN or RDP client installation is required.
How to Access:
Navigate to the Portal: Open your browser and go to https://udgam.manit.ac.in/
Login: Use your WiFi / LDAP credentials.
Select Your Workstation: You will see a list of available workstations or be prompted again to enter the workstation specific credentials shared over an email.
Work Seamlessly: The Windows desktop will open in your browser tab. You can use your mouse and keyboard just like a local machine.
💡 Pro Tip: To transfer files between your local computer and the workstation, use the sidebar (accessible by pressing Ctrl + Alt + Shift).

Purpose:
These workstations are intended for research-related computational tasks, not for general office work or web browsing or accessing the HPC cluster.
Session Management:
Please log out when your task is finished to free up the resources for other scholars.
Data Backup:
While each unit has its own storage, We recommend syncing your final results to the personal laptop or desktop or cloud backup.
